Origin & Composition: Volcanic origin, primarily volcanic glass; usually silica-rich (acidic), occasionally more basic types.

• Extremely low dry bulk density (550–800 kg/m³) – among the lightest lava stones worldwide.
• Porosity: Up to 85%, allowing the stone to float under certain conditions – rare for volcanic rock.
• Color Range: Reddish, brown, dark grey to black; influenced by mineral composition and oxidation level.
• Comparison to Pumice: Naturally darker, but similarly lightweight – ideal where reduced weight with structural integrity is needed.
• Source: Quarried in southern Türkiye, known for high-quality volcanic deposits.
